| As the divot will be taken after the ball has been hit it will be straight to start moving a little to the inside, maybe, depending on how long a divot you take.

| Proper divots point slightly to the right, more so for the shorter irons. Motion is down and out, and continues down and out even after the ball is stuck because lowpoint has not been reached yet. If divots point to the left, then the plane line is bent. So I've read a few dozen times on this forum :-)

![]() | DDL is the closest ![]() the short irons should be pointing towards the right because (i'm going to murder this i know) it has something to do with a short iron reaching its inline condition much faster than a longer club. Thus why we need the further back ball position. As the clubs get longer the divots should: 1) become shallower due to the flatter plane of the longer clubs 2) become straighter
