I think it refers to the same thing. A very underrated golf club IMO. Those things were solid and felt good too.

The earlier TP's had an internal cavity in the long irons visible by a plug on the toe end. Does ICW refer to this same feature or something else?

I'm not saying you (or Mike Austin) are wrong. I'm just saying that I'd like to see more concrete evidence. Many great players kept their right heel on the ground at impact and never had back problems. Snead was a perfect example. Snead also had tremendous flexibility. I used to have lower back problems and did not have the rear heel on the ground. Then I started stretching my hamstrings and calfs and the lower back problems went away and now my rear heel if flat at impact.

Either way, I'm not advocating that the rear heel be flat. I just feel that the weight should not be on the toes. At impact if the weight is on the ball of the rear foot or on the side of the ball of the rear foot, that's great.

    Richie,
To qualify my statement, check out "Mike Austin pivot" on Google or whatever....

Mike had a degree in kineseology (plus others) and over 90 years of golf experience when he died...

If you can find any video of him it will help...I've got 7 hours of his stuff here and video of him hitting balls at age 77 with no problem whatsoever (and long)...and he is using a 1-iron to give a lesson demonstration (how many pros would have the confidence to do that) and he hits it one handed too....

He always stated that you have to fit the golf swing to your body, not the other way around (he stated thatleads to all the "itises" you can think of,,"spondulitis, etc etc)
, and always insisted you get that right heel off the deck ASAP in the downswing to
    minimise stresses...

    Brgds..
